OttawaOnline.com presents you with the list of top 50 Search Engines
and Directories (see below) that is used to register our clients' Web sites with. Also, Ottawa Online provides some
updates and information on relevant Search Engines and Directories.
Search Engines Submissions
In addition to submission to 50 search engines/directories (SOHO Package, see below),
your Web site will be registered manually with:
- Alta Vista (all languages)
- Excite
- Open Directory
Due to the large
amount of traffic that
"Yahoo!" and "LookSmart" Search Engines have and can send to your
Web site, getting listed in their directories is very important. Unfortunately, they
have recently implemented submission fees ranging from $149
- $299 per submission of a business Site. Even with
these additional costs we feel that the extra traffic is worth it, but
it is up to you. The fees will need to be paid to Yahoo! and LookSmart directly
should you choose your Web site to be submitted to their
directories.
